These are double ended turners with a taped BoK end and a notched ToK side. Excellent quality and design at a fantastic price. 

The notch helps grab the keyway better so that the tool is less likely to slip out. It also gets higher up to give more clearance. 

The tapered end also takes up less space, giving more room for the pick.
